Using Chip Racks
Chip racks are used to carry and move large stacks of chips around the poker room or casino. Without chip racks, players would have a very difficult time keeping track of their money. Chip racks are generally five rows long and carry 20 chips in each row.
Some casinos have chip racks that fit exactly 20 chips in each rack with some room to spare, while others cater to a more snug fit. As a result of the varying chip rack sizes, it is always best to count out your chips in stacks of 20 before you put them in the rack. This is not only an effective way to count your money, but it will also aid in the process of cashing out when you make your trip to the cage.
Racks Make Moving Chips Much Easier
The beauty of chip racks is that they can and will allow you to move massive amounts of money at a time without any sort of hassle. If you sit down at a $1/$2 no limit game with $300 and end up making $1,000, all that you need to do is get another rack and you will be on your way. You could even color the chips up so that you only need to use one rack to cash out.
Easy to Find and Use
Chip racks are readily available in any legitimate poker room. Most tables will have a number of racks scattered across the floor underneath the table, but this is far from the only place where players can find a rack that they can use. If the cage is close by, there is always a number of racks at your disposal. An even faster and more effective way to rack up your chips is to simply look around for carts or other tables near you. Where there are carts and chairs in a poker room, there are chip racks.
Use chip racks whenever possible and you will minimize and effectively eliminate the chances of spilling, dropping, or losing your chips in the poker room. Chip racks are easy to stack and make counting and tracking your money incredibly easy.
