Venetian Las Vegas Poker Room

Venetian is one of the highest end poker rooms in Las Vegas.  Located at the intersection of Sands Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, Venetian offers about 50 poker tables.  The number of tables varies depending what time of year it is or whether a Deep Stack Extravaganza is running.  The last few Deep Stack events have been held in the Palazzo.

Players arriving from the front of the casino should enter into the north doors behind the fountain.  The poker room is immediately on the left.  If a player is driving to the Venetian poker room, I suggest parking at Palazzo.  The entrance is at the first traffic light east of Las Vegas Boulevard on Sands Avenue.  I recommend this because the Venetian parking deck is poorly designed, and requires driving all the way around the property to get to it from Las Vegas Boulevard.  When arriving from the Palazzo parking deck, take a left at the table games.  This will take you to a long shopping area and you will eventually reach the Venetian casino floor.  The poker room is across the casino floor from this entrance.  If you decide to park at Venetian, go down the escalator.  Walk straight ahead and the poker room will be on the left.

Floormen and Dealers

The floormen and floorwomen at Venetian are some of the best in Las Vegas.  They are always willing to help players with any issues or get in a game.  All disputes are handled professionally and fairly.  Many of the dealers at Venetian have an attitude.  Some are unable to deal any game besides Texas Hold’em properly.  This can be a problem if you like to play Omaha or mixed games.  Venetian management long ago decided not to have any type of promotional jackpot drop or jackpots of any kind.  This is a pure poker room managed by people that know poker players.

Popular Games and Limits

Venetian has a wide variety of games that should make any poker player happy.  There are the standard games like 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 No Limit Texas Hold’em and 4/8 Fixed Limit Texas Hold’em.  There are also harder to find games such as 4/8, 8/16, and 15/30 Omaha High/Low.  Pot Limit Omaha can often be found at 1/2.  There is also 1/2 Big O which is Omaha with five cards.  Mixed games are also common with limits typically being 4/8-8/16.  The Venetian Poker room will even spread Chinese Poker if there is interest.  Any game that a player brings to Venetian, the poker room can accommodate as long as there is a dealer and table available.

Tournaments

Venetian has a wide variety of tournaments.  All tournaments are No Limit Texas Hold’em, but the buyin can change from day to day.  At noon, Monday through Thursday there is a $150 buyin tournament.  On Fridays, the noon tournament has a $200 buyin.  On Saturdays, the buyin is $300, except for the first Saturday of the month where the buyin is $500.  Saturday tournaments have single table satellites that start around 8am.

At 7pm, there is a $120 buyin tournament.  On Tuesdays and Fridays, there is an additional $25 bounty.

The Venetian has a separate tournament podium from the cash games.  To enter a tournament, visit the podium located near the Las Vegas Strip entrance.

Venetian will be happy to spread any private tournament.  Call or stop by the tournament podium for details on how to host your own private tournament.

Player Rewards

Players earn $2 an hour in comps at all cash games.  Comps may be used towards food, hotel, and tableside massages.  Players that average six hours of play per day qualify for the Venetian Poker Room hotel rate.  This rate is $129 on weekdays and $179 on most weekends, although some peak times will be higher.

Jackpots and Promotions

The Venetian Poker Room does not have any jackpots or jackpot drop.

Atmosphere and Features

The Venetian Poker Room is a well-designed poker room.  The design is elegant.  The poker room has a classy feel to it.  The poker tables are in great shape.  The chairs on the other hand are terrible considering how classy the rest of the poker room is.  The chairs are not adjustable and many of them are in bad shape.  The high limit games are dealt in a separate room from the lower limit games.  There are two poker salons that cater to high limit poker players.  All tables have automatic shufflers.  The Bravo system is used for player tracking and waitlists.  Current games can be viewed using the Bravo Poker app.

Food

Venetian offers many restaurants.  Players may order from several restaurants and have the food delivered directly to the poker table.  If a player wishes to order food to the table and has some comps, make sure to contact the floor person before ordering so that they can have your comp ready.  If a player is looking for something more upscale than tableside delivery, there is probably no better place.  There are many high-end restaurants on the property.

Accommodations

If you combine Venetians hotel with the one at Palazzo, they are the largest hotel in the world.  Not only are they the largest, they are one of the nicest too.  The room are immaculate, even the entry-level rooms.  The hotel is five-star in every way.  Poker players that are looking for an upscale Las Vegas trip should consider the poker room rate at Venetian, especially considering poker players receive a special rate.
